SVA is working to ensure that children experiencing disadvantage can access the supports they need to thrive. Our extensive research into Early Childhood Hubs (ECHs) highlights their critical role in improving outcomes for children and families facing socioeconomic disadvantage.
We have developed a brief that explores key insights and recommendations for the establishment and operation of best practice ECHs. This draws on insights gained through interviews with ECH leaders, key sector experts, government representatives and the research of SVA and our colleagues. These hubs offer holistic support to children and families, with a focus on early intervention, family empowerment, and community responsiveness. They are a key mechanism for supporting children experiencing disadvantage or vulnerability.
What you’ll find in the brief:
- An outline for high-quality early childhood hubs, including core features, components and essential services and supports.
- Key enablers for effective ECHs to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.
- Evidence-based insights and recommendations for designing and implementing high-quality ECHs.
- Lessons learned from implementing ECHs to refine strategies and ensure successful operations.
- A best practice case study of an Early Childhood Hub in action.
