SVA is seeking support to provide affordable, appropriate and safe housing for women over 55 at risk of homelessness.
Current state of the sector
Over the past few decades, housing affordability in Australia has broadly declined. More than 2 million people in Australia have not had a permanent place to live at some point in their lives. Some people spend nights couch-surfing or in their car. Others end up living somewhere that is severely crowded. They have less money to spend on food, education and health care.
Role we play
We work with partners across the housing and homelessness ecosystem to provide more people with a safe place to call home.
Our deep expertise and innovative thinking guide our approach and the work we do. To achieve a better system we:
- build unique partnerships and collaborations
- unlock new sources of funding to create affordable housing
- support housing providers to tackle their toughest challenges
- help re-design service delivery models and chart new strategies
- work to change policy for wide-scale impact
- bring diverse skills and sector-wide expertise.
