Principal, Consulting (VIC)

Selena Ng

I’ve grappled since childhood with just how much the lottery of birth impacts the lives we end up living. One way I find meaning is through contributing to endeavours that seek to morph our world towards one where we all – present and future – can flourish.

Selena is a Principal in the Consulting team and since joining SVA in 2021, she has worked on a wide range of strategy, evaluation, organisational effectiveness, and partnership projects, with a special interest in supporting initiatives that seek to build sustainable positive change between sectors and cultures.

Some publicly available examples of her work include a strategic plan for a community housing peak body, qualitative research on the employment experiences of young people with disability, a snapshot of the intersecting experiences of young people across family violence, mental health and persistent homelessness, and a review of the first five years of Joint Management of Country between an Aboriginal community and a state government.

Prior to joining SVA, Selena worked in management and operational roles in the international energy industry, combined with pro bono work including board and advisory roles in the not-for-profit sector in Europe, West Africa, South-East Asia, and Australia.

Selena holds a PhD in theoretical physics (University of Cambridge), an MBA (Collège des Ingénieurs), a Bachelor of Science (Monash University), and is a graduate of the altMBA, a Fellow of On Purpose, and a Founding Fellow of Practical Utopias. Alongside SVA, Selena works in public hospitals as a spiritual care practitioner.
