Ramon Wenzel, PhD, is Director, AI Enablement & Transformation at SVA. Ramon works at the intersection of social impact, strategic change and emerging technology. He leads SVA’s work on AI enablement and transformation, helping shape how SVA and the wider social sector can use AI responsibly and effectively across strategy, governance, capability, service design and ways of working.

Ramon is particularly focused on how AI can help the for-purpose sector improve productivity and decision-making while strengthening equity, accountability, trust and real-world impact. He brings a human-centred and evidence-informed approach to helping organisations navigate what emerging technologies mean for their people, operating models, beneficiaries, funders and wider systems.

Ramon brings 20+ years’ experience in strategic advisory, organisational change, research, data analytics, evaluation and capability-building initiatives across philanthropy, government, business and the not-for-profit sector. His work combines practical implementation with systems thinking, helping organisations translate complex evidence and emerging tools into better decisions, stronger capability and more effective action.

Before joining SVA, Ramon held leadership roles at Minderoo Foundation, the Centre for Social Impact, Curtin University and the University of Western Australia Business School. He was the inaugural Chief Investigator for the Australian Not-for-Profit Workforce Study and Director of the national Learning for Purpose initiative. In 2018, Ramon was recognised in Pro Bono Australia’s Impact 25 for his contribution to the social sector.

Ramon holds a Bachelor of Business Communication Management from Berlin, a Master of Commerce in Strategic Human Resource Management from UWA, and a PhD in Management and Organisations from UWA.
