I’m interested in how we design and evaluate social interventions well, so the evidence we produce helps organisations improve what they do for the people they serve.

Joshua Wang is a Manager in the SVA Consulting team, focused on designing and evaluating evidence-based social interventions. He works with First Nations and community-controlled organisations, government agencies and non-profits, often on programs for young people and families and responses to domestic and family violence. His skills span evaluation design, mixed-method research, theory of change and outcomes measurement.

Josh led the mixed-method evaluation of a large government early intervention program for at-risk families, integrating in-depth interviews with sector-wide survey and administrative data. He designed an innovation approach for a major government services provider, and evaluated an Aboriginal corporation’s prison re-entry program in Western Australia.

Before SVA, Josh spent four years at Herbert Smith Freehills and completed secondments at community legal centres supporting homeless young people. He holds a Bachelor of Economics and Laws (Honours I) from UNSW and an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation (Distinction) from the University of Oxford.
