Joel Palte

Manager, Consulting (NSW)

Joel Palte

I am motivated to ensure everyone in Australia can access the support they need to live a fulfilling and valued life. SVA provides the perfect opportunity to contribute to this mission, applying my strategic problem-solving skills to support organisations at the forefront of alleviating disadvantage.

Joel is a Manager in SVA’s consulting team, with expertise in strategy development, business planning, evaluation, impact measurement, and social sector system reform.

During his time at SVA Joel has worked on a wide range of projects supporting not-for-profit organisations and governments to deliver impact. This includes developing a sector strategy for community transport in regional NSW, developing a strategy and business plan for a social enterprise, evaluating a Commonwealth government place-based initiative, and working with the Department of Social Services to identify options for strengthening the community sector in Australia.

Joel brings a deep understanding of the organisational and systemic levers needed to achieve impact, acting as SVA’s Director of Policy & Advocacy for seven months in 2024. Prior to joining SVA, Joel worked at the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet driving strategic policy reforms, and early in his career practised as a solicitor. Joel also sits on the Board of the First Hike Project, a charity that takes young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds on their first hiking experiences.

Joel Palte holds a Bachelor of Commerce/Law (First Class Honours) from Macquarie University, and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Sydney, where he studied as a Westpac Future Leaders Scholar
