Hugh Driver

Senior Advisor, Impact Investing

Hugh is a Senior Advisor in SVA’s Impact Investing team, where he works with investors, governments and for-purpose organisations to develop investment strategies, innovative funding models and catalytic capital solutions that address complex social and environmental challenges.

Hugh has more than 25 years’ experience spanning law, investment banking and impact investing. He previously worked at Macquarie Group in Hong Kong, New York and Sydney, and more recently with Australian Impact Investments, supporting the deployment of capital to deliver measurable social and environmental outcomes alongside financial returns.

Hugh has particular expertise in designing and structuring impact investments and catalytic capital solutions. Drawing on deep experience across capital markets, investing and structuring, he understands both the opportunities and constraints involved in pursuing long-term community outcomes, as well as the practical realities faced by the organisations delivering them.

Hugh is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and serves on the Board of the Human Rights Law Centre. He previously served as Deputy Chair of Zahra Foundation, an organisation that supports victim-survivors of family and domestic violence.

I feel incredibly fortunate that my work at SVA allows me to apply the skills and experience I’ve developed throughout my career to address some of Australia’s most complex social challenges. SVA brings together the people, ideas and partnerships needed to create meaningful, lasting change.” Hugh Driver Senior Advisor, Impact Investing
